Good Lord-I Think I'm a Hormonal Pack Rat

Today, we decided to finish unpacking.

Two things about that-first we won't finish today and second we moved into this home in 2000-obviously these boxes hold things not critical to our day to day living as we've lived 9 years without this stuff. It has to go.

As I unpack and discover things, I'll try to blog about this experience.

One son just discovered a Congressional Record that has a picture of his great grandparents in it. He is wondering if they were spies?

I have these orange dishes but I don't know why? Some days I think they are pretty and some days I really don't. Guess colors do affect us.

Found a cup that had a picture of my three children as babies on it...that we gave to grandma D. and I almost went awwww out loud. This should be a big hint that I just may be hormonal.

Dishes, dishes, dishes and tupperware...good grief I either need to start cooking, entertain more or get rid of these things. Anyone have a copy of Julia Child's cookbook? Just remembered-we haven't gotten to the boxes of cookbooks yet?

Oh no, here comes son with our ladder golf game...where does he think he is going to put that...we are keeping that game. We should set it up and play. Focus Julie, focus.

Daughter has just brought me an important delivery...awwww it's a candle we received as a wedding gift.

Now my daughter has found my musical bank from when I was her age. It still plays the music. Can we say, "I will not be a packrat!" three times and mean it. However, I will check out and keep the money in the bank. I had some cool coins.

What's this? Oh,now she found a bell I received from my grandmother in 1988. That is going into the china cabinet. Goodbye dishes.

Not sure I can handle much more of this.

Upside-found glass glasses! Kids are old enough that we can safely use glasses that aren't plastic. Also, I've grown up and broken enough glasses and dishes on our concrete floor that even if they break, I won't spazz out.

Daughter found a sippy cup-yep pretty sure I have no attachment to that one. It can go into the recycle trash bin.

Plastic lids and more plastic lids-where in the world are the containers that go with the plastic lids? lol

Piles of picture albums with pictures of people I don't know. Thank you God for digital cameras and little storage thumb drives! It is interesting to look at...oh my, there is a picture of my husband as a teenager. Even if I don't know these people-it is family history-must think of way to preserve.

Son just commented, "It is always good to have another measuring cup," Like the four we already have in the house aren't enough.

Dog gone it...daughter found some of my old stuffed animals. No...they must go. I wonder if the dogs need some new chew toys.

Well, you see how this is going and so I'm going to sign off before I end up keeping all this stuff. Hope you found something to smile or laugh about today-I did!

Peace!

JulieD

Questions of the day:
Are you a hormonal pack rat?

Do you hold onto things because they have connections to people you care about?

Do you hold onto your emotions or feel free to share them?

In your daily interactions and reactions, do you remember to keep what is important-important?

I don't really believe there are right or wrong answers to these questions but it might be important just to know your answers.
