Math is one of the biggest challenges in our homeschool. If we don't do Math I am tempted to not even call it or count it as a school day. Yet, I am of the belief that any subject even one that is a daily struggle can be fun, no actually it must be fun.
Math is not an option and must be done so I tell my children why not choose to enjoy it? It is a choice after all on which attitude we bring to the school desk or table.
Yesterday we had a discussion about how much belief comes into play in what we attempt to do and how much success we find.
Of course, this discussion came after several other discussions about what is success, why one should persevere and goal setting and what is a win-win situation etc..
So let me ask you this, is Math fun for you? Why not? Do you believe it can be fun? Why or Why not? You have a choice, you can change what you believe. Just start by saying often, Math is fun! I love Math! I so look forward to the challenges that I find in Math!
Laugh, but not out loud, at any thoughts that pop up that say otherwise. Math is Fun!!! Believe it! I believe it! Can you?
Here is a comment from my daughter about Math that I find funny. Hope you do, too.
Math has too many words.
Earlier in the week, as a result of her making Math fun by drawing dragons on her math homework...found laughter by creating this Haiku:
Homework Haiku
Why does Math drag on?
Torturing the artist’s soul
Evil Math Dragon
Enjoy your weekend! Peace to all!

Thought for the day: Choose to make Math (insert word of choice) fun and believe it can be fun. Go on-give it a real try. :)
