Thinkers, Doers, Progress: Journey to Success

Part of teaching my children at home is the opportunity to help them transform from absorbing and learning information to teaching them to use that information-not just as followers but doers.

I want my children to take information and facts and learn to apply them for progress and for their own future success. I also want them to be thinkers-before they do preferably.

So I have had a long term strategy that addresses these concepts but I have found that there are some challenges connected with this whole plan.

Challenge #1: Children are children
Challenge #2: Ask right questions not just ask questions
Challenge #3: Me, myself and I
Challenge #4: Tweens and teens know everything
Challenge #5: Mom knows everything
Challenge #6: Oh...wait I have teens-that should read Mom is wrong about everything. lol

So today, we were discussing the development of the entertainment industry from vaudeville to the present and the question they were to consider is what's next? What will be progress for the entertainment sector?

I will be writing an article soon about what we came up with for answers and will post a note in comments when it is published.

As I consider the conversation I did find a couple insights to share..

Insight #1 Children-can meet and exceed our expectations-don't limit
Insight #2 Questions-Teach them to ask questions, of course, but also teach them how to find answers
Insight #3 Me, Myself and I: There is no point to this if it is only for self
Insight #4 Teens and tweens have insights too!
Insight #5 Mom wishes she knew everything
Insight #6 Laughter at one's mistakes is really a good thing because mistakes happen.

For today I hope you have the blessing of finding insights in your challenges.
Peace!

Insight/Question of the day: Is it a problem or a challenge? Wishful thinking or an insight? Negative or positive? Good or bad? Your journey to success.Your choice.
