Yesterday was actually supposed to be "L" day but I didn't get to write the post and today a perfect and amazing thing happened. "LIFE"
Last summer a little kitten, wormed her way into our hearts and into our living room. She has been an indoor/outdoor kitty. We intended to have her fixed when she was old enough but we didn't get it done quick enough. Yes, she became pregnant.
With her pregnancy, she became more loving and cuddly. Every morning and throughout the day she would let me hold her, flip her over and give her a belly rub. It was so incredible to feel the babies moving inside her.
This morning, when I picked her up, her belly was smaller, yet I could still feel one kitten moving inside her. She let me rub her belly and then she went and hid in our storage room and I thought perhaps she would have her last kitten there.
After a few minutes, just as I finished my breakfast, she returned and wanted me to hold her and rub her belly. So I held her and rubbed her belly and talked to her as she had contractions and just before she delivered her baby she let me know to put her down and she delivered a beautiful and adorable kitten.
I haven't found the other kittens yet. Take that back.. lol She is in a box right behind me and when I glanced back to check on her-there were two kittens. So kitten #1 tan spots was born at about 9:30. Kitten calico #2 about 9:50 a.m. Still not sure if there are more. Awwww they are so cute.
What a amazing experience-to see a life come into this world. And to think I for a brief time was a kitty midwife. I don't think I'll make this a career but it was a exciting way to start my day!
I hear my momma kitty purring behind me as she tends to her little ones. Such a beautiful sound.
Tomorrow I will be celebrating a life that I've lived for 23 years with my husband. I have a great life. Thanks be to God!
I hope and pray that all who read this will find a way to celebrate today...it is an awesome day!
Peace and Blessings!

P.S. At 10:30 kitten #3 arrived....another tan one!
I love animals, but I'm allergic to them. I would have at least one cat and a dog if I could. My latest A-Z Challenge blog is here: http://myheartblogstoyou.blogspot.com/2011/04/misunderstandings-i-know-you-didnt-say.html
